Tis the season! I made my list and checked it twice. These are the fights I want to see in 2022.

Terence Crawford Vs. Errol Spence Jr. – We will start with the obvious here. This is a fight that many of us have been asking for better part of the last 3-4 years. Promotional issues seemed to be the root of why this fight has not happened yet. Crawford’s new found promotional free agency has removed that hurdle. Should Errol Spence defeat Yordenis Ugas in their three-belt unification bout early in 2022, the road to Spence vs. Crawford should be clearer than ever before.

Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk – Fury put a definitive end to his trilogy with Deontay Wilder scoring an eleventh round KO in a potential fight of the year contender. Usyk picked up three titles after defeating Anthony Joshua by UD in September 2021. Everyone loves a unification bout, and this fight would determine the first undisputed champion in the division since Lennox Lewis in 2000.

Anyone at 135…Please – This division is loaded with talent. Gervonta Davis, Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia, Vasiliy Lomachenko, Teofimo Lopez, all fight in this division, and yet and still we have yet to see any of them step foot in the ring with each other. Also in the fray now, George Kambosos Jr. who took the lineal crown from Lopez in November. I hope that in 2022 we can make some of these fights happen to determine who the best fighter is in this star-studded division.

Deontay Wilder vs. Anthony Joshua – This fight should have been made a few years ago when both were still undefeated and on top of the world. Fast forward a few years, and Wilder has been KO’d twice by Tyson Fury and Joshua going 2-2 in his last two fights. A little luster may be gone, but you can still sign me up to watch two heavyweights with great punching ability try to knock each other out.

Canelo Vs. ??? – Canelo Alvarez is the biggest star in the sport, and I for one am intrigued to see who could win the Canelo sweepstakes. It looked to be that Canelo was heading to 190 to face WBC titleholder Ilunga Makabu, but since its initial announcement, we have heard nothing else of it. Should that fight not occur, Canelo has no shortage of opponents. Artur Beterbiev, Dmitry Bivol, Jermall Charlo, David Benavidez are all big fights that fight fans would love to see.
